Weather and Environmental Policy

Purpose and Importance

The Weather and Environmental Policy establishes Mongold Junk Removal’s procedures for handling weather-related delays, unsafe site conditions, and environmental challenges that may affect service performance. This policy ensures the safety of our crew and customers while maintaining fair and transparent pricing when additional materials or precautions are required due to weather or terrain conditions.

Policy Statement

Mongold Junk Removal operates year-round and strives to complete scheduled services regardless of weather conditions whenever it is safe and practical to do so. However, certain weather events or environmental hazards can make job sites unsafe, cause delays, or increase operational costs. This policy defines how such situations are assessed, how fees are applied when extra measures are required, and how service adjustments will be handled.

Weather-Related Delays and Cancellations

  • Unsafe Weather Conditions:
Service may be delayed or rescheduled in cases of heavy rain, snow, ice, high winds, lightning, flooding, or any other weather condition deemed unsafe for loading, driving, or dumping.

  • Customer Notification:
Customers will be notified as soon as possible of any delay or need to reschedule. Priority will be given to rescheduled jobs as soon as conditions improve.

  • Cancellation Fees:
No cancellation fee will apply for weather-related delays initiated by Mongold Junk Removal. However, if the customer chooses to cancel entirely rather than reschedule, a minimum service fee may apply to cover travel or administrative costs if the crew was already en route.

  • Driveway and Access Responsibility:
Customers are responsible for ensuring the property is safely accessible. If driveways, access points, or work areas are obstructed by snow, mud, or ice, service may be delayed or additional fees may apply to make the area accessible.

Environmental Access and Safety

  • Snow and Ice Management:
If a job site requires de-icing or snow removal to safely operate, Mongold Junk Removal may provide this service for an additional charge.

    • Salting Fee: Flat $100 service charge plus $10 per bag of salt used.

    • This includes time, materials, and labor for safely clearing and treating affected areas.

    • The crew will not operate trucks or trailers on unsafe, icy, or unsalted surfaces.

  • Mud and Soft Ground Conditions:
Excessive mud or unstable terrain can pose safety and property damage risks.

    • If plywood or stabilizing material must be used to create a safe working surface, an Environmental Access Fee of $100 flat rate plus $50 per sheet of plywood will apply.

    • Plywood used on-site will remain property of Mongold Junk Removal unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • Waterlogged or Erosion-Prone Sites:
The crew may decline service or limit access to areas where water or erosion presents a hazard to personnel or vehicles.

Customers may be asked to reschedule once the ground stabilizes or drainage improves.

Heat, Air Quality, and Environmental Alerts

  • High Heat Conditions:
During excessive heat events, work may be modified or paused to prevent heat-related illness. Crews will take regular hydration and cooling breaks as required by labor safety standards.

  • Air Quality Alerts:
If air quality is deemed unsafe due to wildfire smoke or pollution (based on local or state advisories), service may be delayed or rescheduled.

  • Environmental Hazards:
The company reserves the right to suspend service if environmental hazards such as toxic fumes, poor visibility, or unsafe terrain make work conditions dangerous or unlawful.

Environmental Stewardship

Mongold Junk Removal remains committed to protecting the environment and surrounding communities by:

  1. Avoiding unnecessary vehicle idling, spills, or soil disturbance.

  2. Ensuring that all materials and waste are managed through approved recycling and disposal facilities.

  3. Using protective methods (tarps, containment, stabilization boards) to minimize property damage and environmental impact.

  4. Promoting eco-conscious practices and responsible waste diversion in every operation.

This policy applies to all residential, commercial, and contractor services.
Mongold Junk Removal reserves the right to assess environmental fees, delay service, or refuse unsafe conditions at its discretion.

All fees are clearly documented on the final invoice for transparency.

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect current safety standards and weather considerations.
