Mission Conditions and Additional Charges Policy
Purpose and Importance
The Mission Conditions and Additional Charges Policy protects both the customer and Mongold Junk Removal by defining how unforeseen conditions, hidden materials, or unexpected challenges are handled once a job has begun. These situations can increase labor time, equipment needs, or disposal costs. This policy ensures clear communication, safety, and fairness whenever actual job conditions differ from what was described during scheduling.

Policy Statement
Every removal or hauling project is unique. While Mongold Junk Removal provides accurate estimates based on information provided at booking, unexpected site conditions may alter the scope of work. The company reserves the right to modify pricing, service scope, or scheduling when actual conditions require more time, labor, or resources than originally estimated. All adjustments will be explained to the customer before work continues whenever possible.

Definition of Mission Conditions
“Mission conditions” refer to any situation that differs from what was disclosed, expected, or visible at the time of estimate. This includes but is not limited to:
-
Hidden or additional debris not reported during scheduling.
-
Items requiring disassembly or heavy lifting not mentioned in advance.
-
Items located in areas with difficult or unsafe access.
-
Mixed material loads that require sorting or separation.
-
Hazardous, biohazardous, or restricted materials discovered during service.
-
Significant pest infestations, animal waste, or mold contamination.
-
Severe weather or environmental hazards that delay or alter service.
-
Property conditions that create unsafe or unworkable situations (unstable flooring, rotted structures, obstructed access).

Assessing Additional Charges
When mission conditions are encountered:
-
The crew leader will immediately assess the situation and determine if the work can continue safely and efficiently.
-
Any necessary changes to price, service time, or job scope will be discussed with the customer before proceeding whenever possible.
-
If the customer is unavailable or unreachable and the crew cannot safely proceed, the job may be paused or rescheduled at the company’s discretion.
-
If the customer authorizes continuation, additional fees will be clearly itemized on the final invoice.

Common Additional Charges
The following are standard examples of on-site adjustments that may result in additional fees:
-
Unreported debris or items not included in the original estimate.
-
Sorting labor for mixed loads (trash, recyclables, donations, etc.).
-
On-site disassembly of furniture, fixtures, or equipment.
-
Extended time required due to clutter, blocked paths, or repackaging of loose debris.
-
Special handling for hazardous or pest-contaminated materials.
-
Weather delays that require extended crew time or return visits.
-
Refusal of items at donation centers, requiring disposal instead.

Crew Authority and Safety
-
The crew leader is authorized to stop work at any time if conditions become unsafe or substantially different from the original description.
-
Work will not continue until the issue has been addressed, an updated price is approved, or a new service plan is created.
-
Crew members will document conditions with photographs for recordkeeping and transparency.
-
The company reserves the right to refuse or reschedule service for any unsafe, unsanitary, or non-compliant conditions.

Customer Communication and Consent
-
Every effort will be made to contact the customer for approval before additional fees are applied.
-
If the customer cannot be reached and work must continue to complete the job safely, the crew leader may authorize reasonable additional charges up to 20% of the original estimate.
-
Any charges exceeding this threshold will require customer approval prior to completion.
-
Customers will receive a detailed invoice reflecting any changes to labor, disposal, or handling fees.

Rescheduling or Termination Due to Conditions
-
If conditions prevent safe or efficient completion of the job, the company may reschedule service once the issue is resolved.
-
In cases of severe contamination, hazardous materials, or structural instability, the company may decline to complete the work.
-
A minimum service charge may still apply to cover travel and inspection time if no work is completed.

Policy Enforcement
This policy ensures that all services remain safe, fair, and transparent, even when job conditions change unexpectedly. Mongold Junk Removal reserves the right to adjust pricing, reschedule, or refuse service when necessary to maintain safety standards and operational integrity. The most current version of this policy is available upon request or on the company’s website.
